The UPnP gateway now gets to a point that might even justify a pre-release, finally! It can be started from a batch file and configured to run one or more drivers. Capable of publishing dozens of UPnP devices simultaneously (be it as sub-devices)
A driver template is included so new drivers can quickly be setup. A fully functional xplrfx driver is included as well as 3 demo drivers. All c code is now compiled for distribution, no more development/debug libraries required. Continue reading
A new version (0.3) of the RFXmitter driver for Girder is available as of today. Several bug fixes and a debug option. The update is on the Girder page.
It includes the earlier, but never publicly available, version 0.2.1, so check the readme because both 0.2.1 and 0.3 contained breaking changes.
In my attempt to further automate my home, I’m trying to create UPnP devices for my appliances. The simplest examples are power switches and lights that can be controlled using the UPnP protocol. Obviously that’s not very user friendly, so I decided to experiment with a webinterface for the interaction, while keeping the UPnP functionality. The UPnP part can then be connected to the RFXcom devices for actually controlling my X10 and HomeEasy equipment (still working on my DevCom project for the hardware connection part) Continue reading

This week I finalized the serial driver for the RFXmitter by RFXcom. When requesting some info on their devices, I got a request to develop a Lua based driver for the device to be used with Girder. So I got the device (for a serious discount🙂) and coded the whole thing in Lua. And now the first version is released. Most likely not bug-free, as I don’t have most of the supported hardware, so couldn’t test all of it. Continue reading
